
Manzanita: Poetry and Prose of the Mother Lode and Sierra is a series of literary publications published by Manzanita Writers Press, an affiliate of the Calaveras County Arts Council in San Andreas, California. Writers Unlimited is a writers group associated with the literary press and is also an affiliate of the Calaveras County Arts Council. Manzanita Writers Press publishes works by regional writers and is a nonprofit organization.
Founded in 1984 by Editor Monika Rose, Writers Unlimited, and now Manzanita Writers Press, has published 10 publications, organized countless readings and workshops in the region, held writing contests, and promoted the literary arts throughout the region. The writers critique group meets every 2nd and 4th Monday at 6:30 P.M. at the Calaveras County Arts Council Gallery at 22 N. Main St. San Andreas in the heart of the historic town. Contact the editor for additional meeting times and special events. This group networks with and links to other writing networks throughout California.
